In May, world leaders will converge in Istanbul, Turkey, for the first World Humanitarian Summit. Decision-makers are asked to rally around our shared humanity and take action to address the immense toll of human suffering around the world. Ahead of the event, the Secretary-General is travelling on a mission around the world to highlight his “Agenda for Humanity”.
Traveling through different countries and different regions, he spoke up on the effects of disasters and conflict, shining a light on affected people with the hope to give a voice to the voiceless.
This photo gallery is a record of his travels to date. Follow along on this important journey and hear the stories of so many courageous people who are facing unthinkable odds — they need our support now more than ever!
On Monday, April 11th, colleagues at the United Nations Headquarter in New York will have a chance to see the photo exhibition installed near the Vienna café.
“Let us make the Summit in Istanbul the turning point the world sorely needs and the beginning of change those most vulnerable require for a life in safety, dignity and with the opportunity to thrive.”
Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General
